Rome Consul Papirius's Address...

Citizens & Senators of Rome, over the past months our new ally the Aetolian League in Greece has been fighting against the Achaean League. Scopas, a General of the Aetolians has control of the towns of Zacynthus and Oeniadae, and is planning to invade the Acarnanians, but Philip has marched his Army down into Greece, taking the northern towns of Pelagonia, Lyncestis, Bottiaea, and on to Tempe. Philip of Macedon has been a thorn in Rome's side far too long, ever since he sided with Hannibal of Carthage against us! Too long has the crimes of Philip against Rome went unpunished! The Aetolian League has asked for Rome's help against Philip! Do we back down and let Philip destroy the Aetolian League, or do we show Philip that no one opposes Rome!? Philip must kneel to Rome's Authority, to Rome's Justice, and Consul Cornelius will be that Arm which will bend Philip's knee!! Philip we are coming for you! We will send your ships to Neptune, and your people to Proserpina, and your Head will be the example NO ONE sides against Rome!!

As for the office of Censor, Finlandia has shown great wisdom in developing Sicily into a new Roman Province, and it will be an Honor for Senator Aemilius to be the next Censor. Should the votes go against Senator Aemilius, I nominate Senator Furius as alternate, not out of bias, but out of the need to keep a balanced Influence within our Factions. The voting order will start with Caelestis Genus, 100% Loyalus, Coronus, Finlandia, and last will be Arborophilia.

The last matter to be announced comes from the Pontifex Maximus Quinctius to honor Coronus with its first Priesthood to the esteemed Senator Sulpicius.

I look forward to the future discussions of Legion recruitment, Fleet building, and how many Legions to send with Consul Cornelius against Philip V of Macedon. Without further delay, I have been given Caelestis Genus's votes for the next Censor, all 'Yea' for Senator Aemilius. 6 cards left in Deck 1, we have to attack 1st Macedonian & Philip. We suggest that we raise all available legions and hold as many veterans in reserve as we can.

Final vote:

Caelestis Genus: 12 votes in favor

100% Loyalus 11 votes in favor

Coronus: still unhappy with Cornelius as Field Consul, casts 4 votes against

Finlandia: says that Aemilius may be needed to attack the Macedonians next year, and casts 10 votes against, imploring the others to do likewise

Arborophilia 10 votes in favor

The final tally is 33 votes in favor and 14 votes against. The motion passes.
