Turn 3 Senate Phase, Consul Elections and Censor Nomination

Censor Votes due 3/14, Friday

Senate Phase

Aelius rises:

"Fellow Senators. It is with a heavy heart that Finlandia votes aginst this proposal for Consuls. We assume Julius is destined for Field Consul and if he were to win the war against the Macedonians our Julius would be more influential than any other senator past and present. Now, had we heard that there were plans to censure him next year, Finalndia would be more amenable. It should be noted that Fabius volunteered to be prosecuted in order to maintain a balance of power when he had the same influence that Julius will have.

Finlandia votes NAY."

Flaminius arises:

My fellow senators, Arborophilia recognizes the concerns of our esteemed colleagues of Finlandia, however we know that the faith Rome puts in Julius will neither be misplaced nor abused and humbly request that Rome unite behind him to face this most dangerous war.

Arborophilia votes YEA.

Sulpicius addresses the Senate.

"Conscript Fathers!

"CORONUS reluctantly agrees with FINLANDIA. Applus informs me that the best odds we can achieve without either Macedonicus or Flamininus in command are 63.89% using 29 CF. We have 3 Veteran legions, 21 regular legions, and 8 fleets, so for a trifling 30T expenditure we can go to war with 28 CF in troops alone. There is no need for a 4-Mil general such as Julius unless we want to rest a veteran and not buy the 25th legion. Even a milksop such as Calpurnius can do the job as well. Therefore CORONUS casts all votes NAY.

"I would also appeal to the Factions holding Macedonicus and Flamininus hostage to play then forthwith."

100%Loyalus casts all votes "Yes"

Caelestis Genus votes yes.

Final tally is 25 votes in favor, 20 against.

Aurelius becomes Rome Consul and Julius becomes Field Consul. Aurelius is now Presiding Magistrate.

After the election Quinctius addresses the Senate...

For the fine job Senator Furius has done during his Consulship, I would like to reward him with the next Priesthood for his dedication to Mars while he fought against the Illyrians. May he continue to serve Mars and Rome as much he did these past years. I wish to congratulate Senator Julius and Senator Aurelius for their new office as the next Consuls for Rome. May you bring Honor & Glory to both Rome & Mars these next years.

Aureslius nominates Furius as Censor. Voting order is Finlandia, Arborophilia, Coronus, Caelestus Genus, and 100%Loyalus.
