End of Game Statements.
Christopher Hunt (Nova):
Congratulations to Chris on his win. Thanks to Chris H for
explaining the cards and correcting my errors. It was
close. Made several mistakes. Great game.
Kevin Wilson (New Hellene Hegemony): Should have turned my mind to a 6-cost development 1 turn sooner. I had several to pick from but just ran out of time. May not have been enough anyway but I also had a shot at the Uplift goal so who knows. Congrats to Chris on the tight win and thanks to the rest for playing while I learn the game a bit more. Oh, and thank you Chris for continuing to run the game and for answering questions.
Chris Hibbert (Silicon Valley Terraforming League):
Whoo! That was closer than I expected. I thought I had a comfortable
lead, but either I was miscounting something, or Christopher came on
strong in the end. One thing I forget to account for is that he had
plenty of military, and could have placed a 6-point military world at
the end if he'd had one. I was doing my calculations based on how many
cards people had to buy with.
Anyway, I thought the game started pretty auspiciously. I won my
previous game (Bordoodle) going away, starting with Damaged Alien
Factory and adding Pan Galactic Research and Diversified Economy. That
made me think I knew pretty well how to play a production/trade focused
hand. I got Diversified Economy with my first Explore, and so I kept
alternating Produce/Trade for as long as I could. I thought I was going
to get the bonus for Every World Color, but I never got an affordable
Genes world. Unless I get the same starting cards again, I'm going to
have to try a different strategy next time.
Thanks for the game, Bill, Bob, Kevin and Christopher! Thanks for keeping us moving, Chris.
Bob Robles (The Hive):
Congratulations to Chris. Well, first time playing this game. A lot of
fun. SLowly started to figure out what to do, too slowly. Hope to be a
more worthy opponent in the future
