Turn 4 Senate Phase, First War Proposal
Turn 4 Senate Phase Second War Proposal due 3/11, Wednesday
Senate Phase
Julius staggers to his feet and addresses several potted ferns in the corner.
My dear friends, I freely admit that as a military planner I have lesh experience than the leasht of you, but as my requeshhtsshh for advishe have fallen on deaf earsh, here goes:
I propose that we raise 7 additional legions and 4 more fleets and send them and all the other soldiers who're are around (18 regular, 3 veteran legions) off to teach Philip a lesson and bring back some of those amorphorororor... big jugs of wine. Whaddaya say?
And if this is a shtinker of an idea, then tell me so. Julius then gives the ferns a big hug and calls them his dear friends.
Voting order: Finlandia, Coronus, 100% Loyalus, Caelestis Genus, Arborophilia
Finlandia votes No
Coronus votes No: “The Macedonian is the wrong war to fight especially without Macedonicus or Flamininius.”
100% Loyalus votes Yes.
Caelestis Genus votes No: “There will be blood spilled to avenge our fallen, but I agree we should build up more and fight either the Gauls or Syrians.”
Arborophilia votes Yes.
Proposal fails 29 to 16.
Aemilius sits up and kindly suggests that we attack the Syrian War and the Gallic. We will need to raise legions first. I suggest raising as much as possible in preparation for next year. then we split the strength of the legions between the Rome and Field Consul so they both can defeat their respective wars.
So that would have us raising 12 legions for a total of 21 legions and 3 veteran. Then we each get half of those allotted and prosecute the wars.
Notes
Dave Partridge has resigned. Bill Scharf has agreed to replace him.
