Turn 3 Senate Phase, Second Censor Vote and Governorship Nomination

Governorship Votes due 4/4, Friday

Senate Phase

Finlandia votes NAY on Calpurnius as Censor.

Manlius rises again, "Again, not being privy to the working of the inner council, I see Calpurnius rises to the same level of Influence that we deemed dangerous two short years ago. Has the Senate's position changed and now such a level of influence (18) is considered acceptable? If so, please inform the lesser senators of Finlandia so we can change our outlook."

From the baths of Arborophilia comes a muttered oath. What, they didn't understand us the first time? "Vote for whoever, whatever, wherever was nominated". Finding this hubbub (two interruptions in a week!) intolerable, the family quickly made plans for a trip away and send notice that they will not be available from March 25-30.

Arborophilia votes in favor.

Coronus votes “Nay”

Furius steps forward to cast his votes:

Fellow Senators, I agree with Finlandia about Calpurnius's high Influence, but it wasn't I who Vetoed Furius's nomination. I wasn't going to make any prosecutions if I was elected, but that is in the past now. I am faced with three Senators who can be Censor and one, Senator Aelius, I disagreed with his motives to be eligible. So I'm faced with either Flaminius or Calpurnius. Both choices are good but I'll have to vote for the one with the least Influence. I cast all in favor for Calpurnius as the new Censor.

100%Loyalus votes in favor.

Calpurnius is elected to a second term as Censor by a vote of 25 to 20.

Aelius rises:

"Poor Furius:

The only reason Aelius had to peer in windows was because Valerius had the temerity to bill the glorious Republic for "services rendered". Perhaps the senators of Caelestis Genus would have no problem allowing such corruption (and pride) to go unpunished but we in Finlandia cannot.

There is no loss in dignitas to Valerius that he was nobbing his secretary and his esteem in the Senate actually increased. After that senate session the rest of the senators all went out to party with him, I guess he did not invite you."

Calpurnius returns from his business in the west and without further ado or debate announces that he does not intend to carry out any prosecutions this year and returns control of the Senate to Aurelius.

Aurelius would like his esteemed colleagues Aelius (of Finlandia) to honour his country and take up Governorship of Nearer Spain and assuming that this passes successfully for Claudius (of Coronus) to become Governor of Further Spain.

Voting order is Finlandia, Arborophilia, Coronus, Caelestus Genus, and 100%Loyalus.
