Colonies
The colony at Cochin can produce one of any spice. The colony at Calicut can produce 2 of any spice. The colony at Quilon can produce one of a pair of spices. The colony at Madras can produce 2 of a pair of spices. The possible spice pairs for Quilon and Madras are below.

Expedition Cards
Expedition cards have three purposes in the game. They can be played to have a specific effect, either alone or in accordance with a player action. They can be drawn as part of a colonization attempt or to generate a random number. Or they can add to scoring at the end of the game. In the case of the first type, the uses fall into two categories: those not related to a specific player action, and those that are. The expedition cards that are not related to a specific action are:

There are 3 cards of each type in the deck, and each triplet contains a card with a colonist value of 1, 2, and 3.
There are 5 scoring symbols: Tiger, Fish, Palm, Shell, and Statue, and six of each type are available.
