Special Rules

1.  Your initial settlements may be anywhere.  Any land mass where you have an initial settlement are your "home" areas.  Any other areas are considered "foreign" areas.

2.  The first settlement build in a foreign area gains a bonus VP.

3.  The game ends when someone gains 11VP.

Initial Settlement Placement

Kevin places a settlement at G12 with a road from G12 to G13.

Andy places a settlement at E6 with a road from E6 to E7.

Chris places a settlement at C9 with a road from C9 to C8.

Dave places a settlement at H9 with a road from H9 to I9 and a settlement at H11 with a road from H11 to H12.

Chris places a settlement at G10 with a road from G10 to G11.

Andy places a settlement at H13 with a road from H13 to H14.

Kevin places a settlement at H7 with a road from H7 to H6.

Turn 1

Kevin.  Die roll = 4.  Kevin gains 1 wool, Andy gains 1 wool and 1 brick, and Dave gains 2 lumber.  Kevin passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 3.  Chris gains 1 wool.  Andy passes.

Chris.  Die roll = 12.  Kevin gains 1 grain.  Chris passes.

Dave.  Die roll = 9. Kevin, Chris, and Dave each gain 1 grain and 1 brick.  Dave trades 1 lumber to Andy for 1 wool, then builds a road from I9 to I8 and a settlement in I8.

Turn 2

Kevin.  Die roll = 7.  Kevin places the Robber to the 6 Forest space at E5 and steals brick from Andy, trades 4 grain for 1 lumber and builds a road from G13 to G14.

Andy.  Die roll = 8. Chris gains 1 ore. Andy trades 1 ore to Chris for 1 brick then builds a road from H14 to G14.

Chris.  Die roll = 7.  Chris moves the Robber to the 9 Field space at H8 and steals ore from Dave, then buys a development card.

Dave.  Die roll = 10.  Kevin, Chris, and Dave each gain 1 wool.  Dave passes.

Turn 3

Kevin.  Die roll = 3.  Chris gains 1 wool.  Kevin passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 9.  Kevin and Dave each gain 1 brick and Chris gains 1 grain and 1 brick.  Andy passes.

Chris.  Die roll = 8.  Chris gains 1 ore.  Chris trades 3 wool for 1 grain and upgrades the settlement at C9 to a city.

Dave.  Die roll = 5.  Andy gains 1 grain and 1 ore, Dave gains 1 ore.  Dave passes.

Turn 4

Kevin.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin and Andy each gain 1 lumber.  Kevin passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin and Andy each gain 1 lumber. Andy trades 1 lumber to Chris for 1 brick and builds a settlement at G14.

Chris.  Die roll = 9.  Kevin and Dave each gain 1 brick and Chris gains 2 grain and 1 brick. Chris trades 1 brick to Andy for 1 ore and 1 grain to Kevin for 1 wool then builds a road from C8 to D8 and buys a development card.

Dave.  Die roll = 9.  Kevin and Dave each gain 1 brick and Chris gains 2 grain and 1 brick.  Dave trades 1 wool and 1 brick to Andy for 1 ore, trades 2 ore for 1 lumber, and builds a road from H9 to H8.

Turn 5

Kevin.  Die roll = 9.  Kevin and Dave each gain 1 brick and Chris gains 2 grain and 1 brick.  Kevin builds a road from H6 to H5 and a settlement at H5.

Andy.  Die roll = 10.  Chris and Dave each gain 1 wool, Kevin gains 2 wool.  Andy passes.

Chris.  Die roll = 10.  Chris and Dave each gain 1 wool, Kevin gains 2 wool. Chris plays a Knight, moving the Robber to the 4 pasture at G13 and steals a brick from Andy, trades 3 grain for 1 ore, and buys a development card.

Dave.  Die roll = 5.  Andy gains 1 grain and 1 ore, Dave gains 1 ore.  Dave passes.

Turn 6

Kevin.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin and Andy each gain 1 lumber.  Trades 3 wool for 1 grain and 3 brick for 1 ore, builds a ship from H5 to H4 and a card.

Andy.  Die roll = 5.  Andy gains 1 grain and 1 ore, Dave gains 1 ore.  Andy builds a ship from G14 to G15.

Chris.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin and Andy each gain 1 lumber.  Chris trades 1 brick to Andy for 1 grain, plays Monopoly on lumber, builds a road from D8 to D7, and a settlement on D7.

Dave.  Die roll = 5.  Andy gains 1 grain and 1 ore, Dave gains 1 ore, Chris gains 1 grain.  Dave trades 2 ore for 1 lumber and builds a road from H8 to G8.

Turn 7

Kevin.  Die roll = 10.  Chris and Dave each gain 1 wool, Kevin gains 2 wool.  Kevin passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 4.  Kevin gains 1 wool, Andy gains 2 wool and 1 brick, and Dave gains 2 lumber.  Andy trades 3 brick for 1 lumber, upgrades the settlement at E6 to a city, and builds a ship from G15 to G15.

Chris.  Die roll = 8.  Chris gains 2 ore.  Chris buys a development card.

Dave.  Die roll = 11.  Andy gains 1 ore.  Builds a ship from I8 to I7, claiming Longest Trate Route.

Turn 8

Kevin.  Die roll = 2.  Chris gains 1 ore.  Kevin trades 1 wool to Chris for 1 ore then passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 2.  Chris gains 1 ore.  Andy passes.

Chris.  Die roll = 7.  Chris moves the Robber to the 9 Field space at H8 and steals ore from Dave then passes.

Dave.  Die roll = 11. Andy gains 1 ore.  Dave passes.

Dave.  Die roll = 9.  Dave and Kevin each gain 1 brick and Chris gains 2 grain and 2 brick.  Dave trades 2 wool to Chris for 1 grain, builds a settlement at G8, and moves his ship from I8/I7 to G8/G9.

Turn 11

Kevin.  Die roll = 7.  Kevin moves the Robber to the 6 forest space at H5 and steals wool from Andy, plays a Knight, moves the Pirate to the sea space at F14 and steals ore from Andy, and passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 9.  Dave gains 2 grain and 1 brick, Chris gains 2 grain and 2 brick, and Kevin gains 1 grain and 1 brick.  Andy passes.

Chris.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin gains 1 lumber.  Trades 2 brick to Andy for 1 wool, plays Monopoly on brick, trades 6 brick for 2 lumber, 3 grain for 1 lumber, and builds roads from C10 to C11, C11 to C12, and C12 to C13, gaining the longest trade route.

Dave.  Die roll = 9.  Dave gains 2 grain and 1 brick, Chris gains 2 grain and 2 brick, and Kevin gains 1 grain and 1 brick. Dave passes.

Turn 12

Kevin.  Die roll = 2.  Chris gains 1 ore.  Kevin builds a ship from H4 to G4.

Andy.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin gains 1 lumber.  Andy passes.

Chris.  Die roll = 5.  Andy gains 2 grain and 1 ore, Dave gains 1 ore, Chris gains 1 grain.  Chris trades 3 grain for 1 lumber, builds a settlement at C13, then plays Roadbuilding, placing ships from C13 to C14 and C14 to D14.

Dave.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin gains 1 lumber.  Dave trades 1 grain and 1 brick to Kevin for 1 ore then upgrades the settlement at H11 to a city.

Turn 13

Kevin.  Die roll = 11.  Andy gains 1 ore and Chris gains 1 grain.  Kevin passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 8.  Chris gains 2 ore.  Andy upgrades the settlement at H13 to a city and buys a development card.

Chris.  Die roll = 6.  Kevin gains 1 lumber.  Chris plays a Knight, moves the Robber to the 9 field space at H7, steals grain from Kevin, and upgrades the settlement at D7 to a city.

Dave.  Die roll = 9.  Chris gains 2 grain and 2 brick, Dave gains 2 brick, and Kevin gains 1 brick.  Dave passes.

Turn 14

Kevin.  Die roll = 8.  Chris gains 2 ore.  Kevin trades 3 lumber for 1 wool and passes.

Andy.  Die roll = 5.  Andy gains 2 grain and 2 ore, Dave gains 2 ore, Chris gains 2 grain.  Andy plays a Knight and moves the Pirate to the space at C15, stealing grain from Chris and passing.

Chris.  Die roll = 8.  Chris gains 2 ore. Chris upgrades the settlement at C13 to a city, reveals a Cathedral and claims victory.

End of Game Statements

Chris Geggus:  Just got lucky with the dice. Can't say anything more than that. Probably not fun for anyone with that final score, so better start another one please Chris as soon as. Scenario seemed fine, despite not really getting to try much of it out. And thanks to Chris for controlling it all in his usual impecable fashion.

Andy York:  Congrats to another checkmark for Chris in the victory column - you left us in the dust. I just never seemed to receive a sustained supply of resources to make much progress...maybe next time.

Dave Hooton:  I agree with everything that Chris G. says. Also, my grain production was shut down for almost the entire game thanks to the robber.

Kevin Wilson:  Wow, fast game.  After losing the race to that first port, no chance; and the dice didn’t seem to help much either, just couldn’t get any wool. Congrats to Chris G for the lesson again and to Chris H for running the game and to the rest for playing.
