End of Game Statements
Dave Hooton: Congratulations to Chris G. for winning the game and to Chris H. for running it. It was close but Chris invested in 6s, of which 13 were rolled while I had invested in 8s, of which only 10 were rolled.
Andy York: Another dismal game being blocked, in a poor (as it turned out) set-up and not gaining resources. But, I should have edged a bit better - another game I need to work on strategy-wise.
Chris, excellent job in taking the win, and a doff of the hat to Chris for his Gming.
Chris Geggus: I was surprised to be given free reign in the north of the island. With 5 players on a tight board any room to expand is welcome. A game I enjoy, but not one I normally do very well in. I did have the run of the dice to some degree, but I would say that my strength was also in the 8s, as my interest in the 6s came along later in the game. I actually received nothing from the first three 6s that were rolled! Getting a road with every 8 that was rolled proved invaluable.

Kevin Wilson: Unless I’m starting early or there is a collective of 6s and 8s near one another I’ve got to stop being lured by the same spots others will too. Again I was boxed in and when we had a run of 6s on turns 5 and 6 my routes out got cut off. What I should have done was opened another area in what was going to obviously be the less crowded area but I thought I might get cards to trade, at least at ports, to break out but alas not to be.
Congrats to Chris on a nice, runaway win. Hard to beat lots of roads. Thanks to Chris H for running the game so flawlessly as usual. And, as usual, sign me up for the next. Maybe I’ll actually act on what I learned.
