Congratulations to Chris Geggus a close victory!
End of Game Statements
Bill Scharf: This was a nail-biter up to the end! It’s Chris, no it’s Dave, no it’s Chris…very exciting to us spectators…um…I mean us other players…thanks for running it Chris!
Dave Hooton: Congratulations to Chris G. for his victory. He managed to get a good occupation/food machine going. Also, I made a mistake a tactical mistake that proved decisive - I had played the Reed Buyer to suppress the housing market, but then on Round 7 I forgot to build a room before growing my family, allowing Bill to grab the build-a-room space. I was then forced to further undercut my strategy by prematurely releasing the Wood Hut Extension card into the world to build my room. Thanks, Chris H., for running the game.
Chris Geggus: Good game. Enjoyed it. Certainly was nip and tuck and impossible to tally up right up until the end. I also made a tactical blunder when going fishing on turn 13. I totally forgot about Dave's Reed Buyer, so I essentially wasted that action as food was not a problem to me. The wild boar were still there, so could have taken those and scored another 5 points with the Constable. I do love it when I can play the Perpetual Student, although does become a die roll as to when the best cards actually appear. A classic game that still produces after all these years.
Christopher Hunt: Thanks to Chris for his excellent game mastery. Agian I got caught up in the wonderful improvement and occupations and overlooked how short the game is.
