Congratulations to Dave on his win!

End of Game Statements

Chris Geggus (Venice):  Well done Dave and Bill. This was totally a 2 horse race and a lesson to the rest of us. I just could not get going at all. I don't know why, just one of those things. Always enjoyable and let's hope we can have a six hander next time around. Thank you to Chris again.

Dave Hooton (Paris):  I thought I had lost it after my final expansion phase, with a bonehead mistake (writing down "India" instead of East Indies") and a run of bad luck at Salonika and Valencia (4 losses vs. 1 win) costing myself $256 in Silk revenue. However, the appearance of other people's Spice and Wine cards gave me the edge against Bill's big last-minute surge. Again, thanks to Chris for running this game (and others even if I forget to credit him in end-game statements).

Christopher Hunt (Barcelona):  Congratulations to Dave on his fine win and to Chris on his management of us all.  On my behalf losing two wars does not help one to win.  With Barcelona you win or lose. I lost.

Bill Scharf (Genoa):  Thanks as always for running the game. And congrats to Dave on his win, I called it awhile back, after I got pirates and black deathed in epoch 3 - no way I can win this unless I get unbelievable cards (I did get good cards, but not enough). Early crusades, again,  helped out the winner. I did well as Genoa. As usual, being squashed between Venice (who wants the northern med route east) and Barcelona (who wants the southern route east) means that if you get in either ones way they’re not thrilled about it. Yeah, not thrilled. As always, tons of fun.
