Congratulation to Kieth Marple on his resounding victory!
Kevin Wilson: Congrats to Keith for an impressive win. A great combo in the wetlands!
Way behind the pack once again. Such is my tableau building fate.
Keith Marple: Thanks all for a very fun game! And thanks as always to Chris H. for running such a terrific format so seamlessly.
I wish I could say I had some grand overarching strategy, but I felt a
bit like I was just trying to grab quality birds and play them. I
did notice how well those pink “lay eggs” birds worked in the last
game, so I prioritized that, which minimized having to lay eggs except
at end game. Then the Little Penguin worked out great, both for
the 2nd round goal and as a quality bird, and I got a great combo in
the Crane and Duck, which I had to delay playing because everyone got
so competitive on right-facing birds. Overall a fun game and the
margin came as quite a surprise to me.
Chris Geggus:
Well done to Keith. That darn Little Penguin. I suspect we would all
have grabbed it first turn if we had been start player. I would suggest
almost too powerful with that ability of his. But great birds as well,
so a well deserved and easy win. I don't know how you guys managed to
really shaft me on turn 2 scoring. I expected to lose to a spread 8
points. Instead I lost to a uniform spread 15 points - ouch! Still
would not have got me any nearer to Keith. Most enjoyable game and
thanks also to Chris H. again.
Christopher Hunt:
Many thanks to Chris H for correctly intrpeting my misleading
messages. Congratualions to Keith on his fine
win. Yes some birds are better than others but Keith was 20
points ahead and we were 20% behind. Yes one can get very
lucky like I did in the first game. First time I was in the scoring for the round winners. Had too few birds in the avairy.
