Kevin Wilson (RMHS):
It was a tough choice this last Epoch. Go early but not have much
chance to kill some Iconian forces or pass, hope for something similar
in strength, probably get fewer VP but kill more Iconian forces. I
chose the former hoping others would put him last and take care of more
of those forces but alas, that wasn’t the case. Congrats to Bill
on a nice win. There were just too many tokens out there to clean
enough out.
Much thanks to Chris for offering the game. HotW still remains one of
my favorites and I’ve been playing it here (and in Boris before) for a
long time. Thanks as well to the other players who seem to like it just
as much. Always sign me up when a gain is opened.
Dave Anderson (Romulus & Remus): Congratulations to Bill on his win. I had one good epoch and then nothing. I tried to pass Bill bad stuff but it was not enough.
Bill Scharf (Iconians): Thanks for running the game, the five or six player version of the game is still one of my favorites. The seven player version slightly less so because of the predictability. I sure got a lot of Far East countries this game, a good way to slow someone down is giving them cards for where they already are, thanks guys…
Christopher Hunt (The Greenies):
Congratulations to Bill on his fine win and to Chris for his fine
running of the game. Losing every attack with the Netherlands
despite using surprise attack didn't help me but Bill was going to win
whatever we did on the last turn. Ended up moving second to last
and having to keep sub-standard nations. I dislike large empires early such as the Persian Empire and the Arabs.
Andy York (Republic of Texas): I think I'll just forget I played in this one...
Congrats to Bill on the strong win and thanks (as always) to Chris for running it.
Chris Geggus (GEGS):
Well done Bill. Cruised it at the end there. I went from ecstatic
(being passed the Romans) to abject despair (finding that Weaponry
meant rubber swords) in one turn. I actually made only a part move with
the Romans before deciding where to put my remaining units, but I took
so many losses that it ended up as my entire turn. Then watching 5
players keep their empires recognising that I was sitting with the
Incas and Aztecs and desperately hoping to give them to anyone - but no
such luck. Those Romans can be a treat or a millstone. In this case a
proper millstone. I will admit that Christopher had the turn from Hell
with the Dutch however.
Always enjoyable and look forward to the next one. Thanks again to Chris H.
