7 Wonders

Notes

A couple of notes since this is the first time we will be using the Armada expansion.  Your Armada board will be to the right of your regular player board, and any islands you have will be to the right of or below the Armada board.  When you play a card or build a stage of your wonder, if you have the available resources, I will automatically have you advance in the appropriate shipping track.  If you can get the resource from one of your neighbors, you will have to specify that in your orders.  Just for clarity sake, I will be referring to the four shipping lanes as follows:  Red:  Military, Yellow: Commercial; Blue: Civic; Green: Exploration.

Congratulations to Dave on his victory!

End of Game Statements

Dave Hooton (Ephesus):  What a tight game, with only 5 VPs separating first and fourth, mostly pursuing different strategies. Thanks to Chris H. for running it.

The Armada expansion, which I haven't seen before, is interesting. It is unpopular locally because people find it fiddly and the extra boards takes up scarce table space. However, neither of this drawbacks apply to e-mail games. I look forward to trying the other expansions.

Christopher Hunt (Rhodes): Congratulations on your win.  A tight game indeed, liked armada a lot, interesting new cards best expansion yet.  Each card choice was critical.  Thanks to Chris for his for his help and answers ago my queries.

Chris Geggus (Helicarnassus):  Enjoyed that one. That Hooton guy is just too sharp on these games. I must watch him closer. Yeah, I really enjoyed the Armada expansion. Made for some interesting choices and certainly made me play cards that I would not have chosen otherwise. Frustratingly I just couldn't find that smoking gun in the last age, even with the discard pick. Close, but no bananas. Thanks to Chris as ever.

Seems to fly by, so keen to try again asap.

Bill Scharf (The Great Wall):  Armada seems to do a good job of buffing up some of the less appealing colors, while not adding much to the game complexity. It’s a good expansion, I’ll give it two thumbs up. Thanks for running it Chris. And congrats to the winner and the rest of us, given our very different strategies it was a close game.

Kevin Wilson (Olympia):  Well, it was close except for me. It was just my 3rd game and I still have a lot to learn. I continue to struggle with the strategy which only comes with practice and experience so bring on the next. Congrats to Dave on the tight win. Thanks to all for my continued bumbling as I learn. It doesn’t appear I hindered either of my neighbors as both were in the hunt. Thanks to Chris for running the game and letting me learn.

I have to admit, still being new with the game, I don’t appreciate what any of the expansions truly add, at least not yet. But I’m sure it will come with time.
