Congratulations to Dave Hooton on his victory!
Dave Hooton:
I went all-in for wood-for-food. I would likely have gotten the Joinery
(for the second time) if it were available. Since my most of my wood
was set aside for food, I moved my room production to clay as soon as I
could, making use of my clay deposit. Once my food machine was in
place, I could then use my Reed Buyer to its fullest extent, helping my
room production at the expense of other. Thanks, Chris, for running the
game.
Bill Scharf:
Pretty basic approach for me, get food (primarily in the form of
vegetables, but some direct sources too) herb garden, turnip field,
fishing rod, field warden, hobby farmer. Not great cards, although a
number of them did work well together). I got the horse, which is
usually worth playing, and fence overseer, surprisingly helpful in a
game where wood wasn’t all that plentiful. Thanks for running the game
Chris, and congratulations to David on his win.
Andy York:
My usual dismal place in the endgame report. I actually thought I was
doing a bit better than I ended up...still have much to learn.
Congrats to Dave on a solid win and a tip of the hat to Chris for his GMing wizardry.
Chris Geggus: A struggle right from the off for me. Being drawn last and finding it
really difficult to get near the starting player position really hurt
and probably cost me lost plays in the first few rounds. Five players is
hard work if left in the stalls and I was marooned for quite a while,
so never got any coherent engine going. Still had cards I wanted to play
even at the end. Well played David and thanks to Chris H.
