Turn 1

Governor Dave selects the Settler and takes a Quarry.  Christopher takes a sugar plantation.  Kevin takes an indigo plantation.  New plantations are:  corn, indigo, indigo, sugar.

Christopher selects the Builder and builds a Small Indigo Plant (1 doubloon discount for the Builder, 0 doubloons spent).  Kevin builds a Small Indigo Plant (1 doubloon spent).  Dave builds a Small Indigo Plant (1 doubloon spent).

Kevin selects the Mayor and places a noble on the Small Indigo Plant and a colonist on the indigo plantation.  Dave places a colonist on the Quarry.  Christopher places a colonist on the sugar plantation.  Two colonists and a noble are placed on the colonist ship.

Turn 2

Governor Christopher selects the Captain, gaining 1 doubloon.

Kevin selects the Craftsman, gains 1 doubloon, and produces 2 indigo.

Dave selects the Builder and builds a Small Market (1 doubloon discount for Builder, 0 doubloons spent).  Christopoher passes.  Kevin passes.

Turn 3

Governor Kevin selects the Trader, gaining 2 doubloons and trading an indigo, gaining 2 doubloons (1 base +1 for Trader).

Dave selects the Mayor, gains 1 doubloon, and places a noble on the Small Indigo Plant and a colonist on the indigo plantation.  Christopher places a colonist on the Small Indigo Plant and moves a colonist from the sugar plantation to the indigo plantation.  Kevin places a colonist on the corn plantation. Two colonists and a noble are placed on the colonist ship.

Kevin selects the Settler, gains 1 doubloon, and takes a Quarry with a colonist from the Hospice.  Dave takes a corn plantation.  Michael receives a tobacco plantation via the Hacienda then takes another tobacco plantation.  New plantations:  indigo, indigo, tobacco, coffee.

Dave selects the Craftsman, producing 1 corn and 1 indigo and gaining 1VP from the Chapel.  Michael produces 1 indigo and 2 sugar.  Kevin produces 2 corn, 1 indigo, and 1 sugar.  Dave produces a bonus indigo.

Turn 9

Governor Kevin selects the Trader, gaining 2 doubloons and trading sugar for 3 doubloons (2 base +1 for Trader).  Dave uses the Office to trade indigo for 2 doubloons (1 base +1 for Small Market).  No further trading is possible.

Dave selects the Captain, gaining 1 doubloon and shipping 1 corn on Ship 1 for 2VP.  Michael ships 2 sugar on Ship 2 for 2VP.  Kevin ships 1 indigo on Ship 3 for 1VP.  Dave ships 1 indigo on Ship 3 for 1VP.  Michael ships 1 indigo on Ship 3 for 1VP.  Kevin ships 2 corn on Ship 1 for 2VP.

Michael selects the Mayor, gains 1 doubloon, and places a noble on a corn plantation and a colonist on the Sugar Mill.  Kevin places a colonist on the Coffee Roaster.  Dave places a colonist on the tobacco plantation and moves a colonist from the Small Market to the Tobacco Storage.  Four colonists and 1 noble are placed on the colonist ship.

Dave selects the Builder, gains 1 douloon, and builds a City Hall (1 doubloon discount for Builder, 2 doubloon discount for Quarries, 7 doubloons spent).  Michael builds a Tobacco Storage (1 doubloon discount from Quarry, 4 doubloons spent).  Kevin builds a Construction Office (1 doubloon discount for Quarry, 4 doubloons spent).

Michael selects the Settler, gains 3 doubloons, draws an indigo plantation using the Hacienda, and takes a tobacco plantation with a colonist from the Hopsice.  Kevin takes a sugar plantation with a colonist from the Hospice.  Dave takes a corn plantation.  New plantations are: corn, corn, indigo, tobacco.

Dave Hooton:  Despite my having three big buildings, this game was in no way a blowout. It would have been even closer had Kevin chosen Captain rather than Mayor on his turn. Well played, everyone!

And as always, thanks to Chris for running it.

Kevin Wilson:  As Chris can confirm I almost went Captain but wanted to occupy the Fortress for what I think was more VP from the bonus that captaining would have earned me.  I thought also a better chance the next guy might choose Captain if I didn’t than him choosing Mayor if I didn’t.  Seems wouldn’t have mattered so no difference.

Thanks to Chris for running the game as always.  At least I was closer this time.  And thanks to the other players for giving us all a chance to play.  I’m sure we’ll get to try again, soon.
