Round 1

Kevin selects the Imperial Sorcerers, gaining 9 tokens, and deploys 2 to Fo4, 2 to H4, 3 to Fo5, and 3 to Fa6, gaining 5VP.

Christopher selects the Bivuacking Leprechauns, gaining 11 tokens, and deploys 2 to Fa1, 3 to Sw1, 3 to H1, 2 to Fa3, and 1 to H3, rolling 0 reinforcements.  Redeployment:  an Encampment is placed in Fa1, Sw1, H1, and Fa3, as is a pot of gold, and a token is placed in Fa3.  Gains 4VP.

Andy spends 1VP to select the Wealthy Halflings, gaining 10 tokens and 7VP, deploys 3 to H5, placing a Hole-in-the-Ground, 2 to Sw4, placing a Hole-in-the-Ground, 2 to Fa4, 2 to H7, and 1 to F07, rolling 3 reinforcements and succeeding.  Redeploys so that there is 1 token each in Sw4 and H5, 2 in Fo4, and 3 each in Fa4 and H7.  Gains 5VP.

Bill spends 1VP to select the Corrupt Pixies, gaining 15 tokens, deploys 3 to H2, 6 to Fa3 (1 Leprechaun token eliminated, 2 tokens and 1 Encampment returned to the Leprechauns, and 1 pot-of-gold captured), 3 to Fa2, and 3 to Fo1.  Removes all but 1 token in each area from the board, gaining 4VP.

Round 2

Kevin's Imperial Sorcerers leave 1 token in each area, place 3 in Sw3, use the Sorcerer power to convert the Pixie token in Fa3, giving 1VP to Bill, and place 2 tokens in H3.  Redeploys so that there are 3 tokens in Fo4, 2 in Sw3, and 1 in each other.  Gains 16VP.

Christopher's Bivuacking Leprechauns collect 3 pots-of-gold, leave 1 token in each area, place 3 tokens in Fa3 (1 Sorcerer token eliminated), 3 tokens in H3 (Sorcerer token removed).  Redeploys so that there are 2 tokens, 1 encampment, and 1 pot-of-gold in each area, and gains 5VP.

Andy's Wealthy Halflings leave 1 token in each area, put 3 tokens in Fo3 and 2 in Fo2, then redeploy so that there are 2 each in Fo2, Fo7, and H7, and 1 in each other area.  Gains 7VP.

Bill's Corrupt Pixies place 2 tokens in Sw2, 4 in Fo2 (1 Halfling token eliminated, 1 returned), 3 in M2, and 2 in Fa4 (reinforcement roll gives 2 tokens, 1 Halfling token eliminated).  Removes all but 1 token from each area, gaining 7VP.

Round 3

Kevin sends the Imperial Sorcerers into decline and gains 5VP.
Christopher's Bivuacking Leprechauns collect 5 pots-of-gold and go into decline, gaining 5VP.

Andy's Wealthy Halflings leave 1 token in each area and place 3 tokens in Fa4 (1 Pixie token eliminated and Andy gives 1VP to Bill).  Redeploys so that there are 2 tokens each in Fo7 and H7, gaining 6VP.

Bill's Corrupt Pixies place 3 tokens in H1 (1 Leprechaun token eliminated), 3 in Fo4 (1 Sorcerer token eliminated), and 1 in Sw3 (reinforcement die roll = 0, token removed).  All but 1 token removed from each area, gaining 8VP.

Round 4

Kevin selects the Pillaging Dwarves, gaining 2VP and 8 tokens, places 3 in M7, 2 in Fa7, 2 in H6, and 1 in M6 (reinfocement die roll = 2, success).  Redeployment:  moves 1 token from H6 to M6 and 1 from Fa7 to M7, gaining 10VP.
Christopher spends 1VP to select the Seafaring Wizards, gaining 10 tokens, places 3 in Fo2 (1 Pixie token eliminated, Christopher pays 1VP to Bill), 3 tokens in Fo3 (1 Halfling token eliminated), 2 tokens in W1, and 2 tokens in H3 (reinforcement die roll = 2, 1 Leprechaun token eliminated).  Redeployment:  moves 1 token from W1 to H3.  Gains 9VP.

Andy York:  Wow, first time I've played this in years (decades?) so I'm a bit surprised with edging out a win. Fortunately, I had two good race/ability combinations which helped.

Thanks to Chris for catching the errors in my rusty game play, and appreciate the skills of the other players in this well fought game.

Bill Scharf:  I sure was rusty playing this game, which I used to play quite a bit. For some reason, we seemed much less crowded than in games past, four players could fit quite comfortably on the board, while I remember fighting like mad to keep a space for myself in the old days. Still, a lot of fun, I’d like to try it again.

Kevin Wilson:  I got a little hemmed in with my Sorcerers so never got to take advantage of their special power. I had to put them into decline a bit early since I wasn’t gaining anything with them. Then, in the last turn, when a good roll (or two) may have helped my Berserk Ghouls I just didn’t get them. Nice close, fun game. Thanks to Chris for running the game and congrats to Andy on a tight victory.

Christopher Hunt:  I always enjoy this game.  Misplayed it kept my initial force concentrated to avid the sorcerer's power and on the back foot after that. Thanks to Chris for working out what I was doing and congtrulations to Andy on his win.
