Congratulations to Dave Hooton on his victory!
End of Game Statements
Dave Hooton: This was a fun game in that I did much that I don't normally do:
Instead of trying to find synergies in my cards, this time I went for a diverse portfolio.
I was able to hang back a bit in the family expansion race thanks to the Hut Builder.
I did a pastoral strategy, which helped me with my food machine, thanks
to the Animal Breeder. The Slaughter House was also supposed to be a
major part of my food machine, but as soon as I played it, most
everyone went vegan.
Thanks, Chris, for running the game.
Christopher Hunt: Well done to Dave on his win and thanks to Chris for his management. Lost track of time before the first harvest due to my well building fixed idea.
Chris Geggus: Good game all and nice work by Dave. I could see all his bonus points racking up, but couldn't do anything about them. Just had to hope to outscore him somewhere else. I don't know about everyone going vegan, but when it came to plowing fields my Harrow was a waste of space as well. I suspect that not everyone sees the whole tableaux when playing online. Sitting around a table it would have been mentioned (mostly by me) a number of times and, I suspect, used more often. Thanks to Chris. Always enjoyable.
Bill Scharf: That was close, thanks Chris for running the game and to Dave for winning it. I was concerned of finishing with a negative score, but I powered through and successfully got a positive score, yesss!
Andy York:
Well, trying a field and food centric strategy didn't work any better
for me (though I may have overdone the Grain production a bit). I do
think being 5th in a 5 player game is definitely a disadvantage in the
early turn(s), as others have noted.
Great job in getting a solid win to Dave! And, thanks to Chris for steering the game forward.
