7 Wonders -- Wonder Pack, Leaders, Cities, Armada
Notes
Your Armada board will be to
the right of your regular player board, and any islands you have will
be to the right of or below the Armada board. When you play a
card or
build a stage of your wonder, if you have the available resources, I
will automatically have you advance in the appropriate shipping
track. If you can get the resource from one of your neighbors,
you will have to specify that in your orders. Just for clarity
sake, I will be referring to the four shipping lanes as follows:
Red: Military, Yellow: Commercial; Blue: Civic; Green:
Exploration.

Congratulations to Dave on his victory!
End of Game Statements
Christopher Hunt (Helicarnassos): Congratulations to Dave on his fine win. Thanks to Chris H for his help and running the game. Very enjoyable. Archimedes is great for science but lost on the military. The gaining discarded cards did not work out in my favour should have discarded cards rather than built them.
Bill Scharf (Giza): Looks like I finished in the middle of the pack, not surprising given my emphasis on military, which is a good but not great path to points, the armada expansion helps, but not enough). Unfortunately, my leaders were not great, leaning heavily towards a military approach. Still, I had fun and that’s the important thing. Congrats to Dave on his win (with manneken pis, impressive!). And thanks to Chris for running it.
Chris Geggus (Ephesus): Well played Dave. I just could not get the blue card out on the 6th card last turn. An extra 9 points, but just could not pay for the extra resource. That close again. Interesting that Sciences didn't play too big a role for a change, but as 3 people seemed to start collecting them early on, it probably levelled itself out across the board. I'm still no nearer discovering what constitutes the best play in this game. Hence why I enjoy it. And thanks to Chris for a fast and efficient game yet again.
Kevin Wilson (Byzantium):
The best play in the game is to do the opposite of what I’m doing. Last
again! I have difficulty picking a path and sticking with it. I grabbed
a couple early science cards then went combat only to return to science
and look for peace. I thought the leader returning 1 gold each time I
purchased from a neighbor would give me more options, it did, but not
enough. I was still constrained once or twice and flirted with poverty
too often. Still, while last, not as far off the pace so maybe
it’s going to get clearer soon.
Congrats to Dave and thanks to the rest for a nice game. As
always, big pat on the back to Chris for running the game so
smoothly.
Sorry for the short delay this past weekend. Friends from out of town and I got behind on other stuff.
Dave Hooton (Manneken Pis):
After I saw 3 people going for green, I went all in for blue. What
really put me over the top, though, was being passed the Gamer's Guild
when I was awash in cash. Also, not getting a naval shield in Age II
would also have cost me the game.
Thanks, Chris, for running the game.
