End of Game Statements
Dave Hooton: Thanks, Chris H., for running the game.
I usually go for eggs, but not this time as I went after nectar. As
Jackie Gleason might have said about nectar, "How sweet it is!"
Chris Geggus: Well done Dave and thanks to Chris H. I can never seem to get a proper engine running in this game. I always seem to be changing tack or flitting back and forth between ideas without committing to a set plan. Not the way to go. Was actually surprised to be that close. Mistake on penultimate action when I thought I could squeeze out another bonus card, which barring a miracle, was never going to score me the 6 points which another egg lay would have done for me. On that basis it actually cost me the game. How often do I have to say that before I take some time to actually consider my turn and play accordingly. More haste, less speed becomes even more obvious.
Bill Scharf: My situation was quite different than Chris g’s, unlike him, I got a magnificent game engine going, unfortunately, it wasn’t for this game. I enjoyed the game but I clearly need to read up on how nectar works. My first game with it and clearly “winging it” was a bad idea (sorry). Let my game performance be a warning to you all!
Kevin Croskery: Well played Dave and thanks to Chris H for running the game. I thought I was doing everything right, hitting end of round targets, scoring my bonus card, laying eggs. But I didn't get enough high value cards to boost my score. Should re-read the nectar rules as well!
Kevin Wilson:
No end of turn goals, couldn’t capitalize on my bonus card and the bird
cards just didn’t seem to fit so I tucked and tucked and tucked. Alas,
not enough. Congrats to Dave on a very nice win and thanks to all
for playing. Another of those games (tableau builders) where I have a
LOT to learn. Fewer errors this time but thank you Chris for keeping me
straight when the did come up.
