Round 1

Kevin spends 1VP to take the Flying Fauns, gaining 10 tokens, moves 2 tokens into H5, 2 tokens into Fa4, 3 tokens into M3, and 3 tokens into Sw3, gaining 4VP and 4 tokens, placing 1 in each region.

Christopher spends 1VP to take the Diplomatic Humans, gaining 10 tokens, moves 3 of them into M5, 2 to H2, 3 to Fa5, and 2 to Fa3, rolling 0 additional and failing, gaining 4VP.  Redeploys 1 token each to Fa5 and H2.  Uses Diplomacy on the Fauns.

Bill spends 1VP to take the Dragon Master Igors, placing 2 tokens in Fa1, 3 tokens to H1 (collects 1 Lost Tribe token), 3 tokens to M2, and 1 token and the dragon to Sw3 (1 Faun token collected, 3 returned to the Fauns), gaining 4VP.

Round 2

Kevin recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens to Fa2 (the Igors collect 1 Lost Tribe token), 2 tokens to Fo1, 2 tokens to Sw2, and 3 tokens to M1.  Gains 7VP and 4 tokens and redeploys until there are 2 tokens each in M1 and M3, 4 tokens each in Fo1 and Fa2, 3 tokens in H5, and 1 token each in Fa4 and Sw2.

Christopher recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens to Fa3 (the Igors collect 1 Lost Tribe token), 3 tokens to M4, and 1 token to Sw1, rolling 1 addtional on the reinforcement die, gaining 8VP.  Uses Diplomacy on the Igors and redeploys so that 3 tokens are each in Fa3 and Fa5 and 1 token in each other area.

Bill exchanges 3 Lost Tribe tokens for an Igor token, recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens into Fo3 (1 Lost Tribe token collected), 2 tokens in H3, and 1 token and the dragon in Sw4 (1 Lost Tribe token collected), gaining 7VP.  Redeploys the dragon to M2, 3 tokens in H1, 2 tokens in H3, and 1 token each in Fa1, M2, Sw3, Sw4, and Fo3.

Round 3

Kevin recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens to Fo3 (the Igors collect 1 Igor token), 3 tokens to Sw1 (the Igors collect 1 Human token), 2 tokens to Sw2, and 2 tokens to Fo4.  Gains 10VP and redeploys until there are 3 tokens each in Fo3 and Sw2, 2 tokens each in Fo1 and H5, and 1 token each in each other region.  The Igors gain 1 token.

Christopher recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens to Sw1 (the Igors collect 1 Faun token), and 1 token to Sw2, rolling 2 reinforcements on the die (the Igors collect 1 Faun token), gaining 8VP and redeploying so that there are 2 tokens in Fa3 and Fa5, and 1 token each in Sw1, Sw2, M4, M5, and H2.  Uses Diplomacy on the Igors.

Bill recalls all but 1 token from each area, converts 2 Lost Tribe tokens, 1 Igor token, and 3 Faun tokens into 2 Igor tokens, moves 1 token and the dragon to  Fo3 (1 Faun token collected, 2 tokens returned to the Fauns), 3 tokens to  Fo5 (1 Lost Tribe token collected), and 2 tokens to  H4 rolling 1 reinforcement and collecting 1 Lost Tribe token.  Gains 9VP and redeploys so that there are 2 tokens each in M2, Fo5, and H4, and 1 token each in Fa1, H1, Sw3, H3, and Sw4, and 1 token and the dragon in Fo3.

Round 4

Kevin recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens to H1 (the Igors collect 1 Igor token) and 3 tokens to M6.  Gains 10VP and 2 tokens and redeploys until there are 2 tokens each in H1, Sw2, Fa4, H5, M6, and Fo4, and 1 token each in each other region.  The Igors gain 1 token.

Christopher recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 2 tokens to Fa1, rolling 1 reinforcement (the Igors collect 1 Igor token).  Gains 11VP and does not redeploy.

Bill recalls all but 1 token from each area, exchanges 2 Igor tokens, 2 Lost Tribe tokens, 1 Human token, and 1 Faun token for 2 new Igor tokens, moves 3 tokens to Fa5 (Human token collected), 1 token plus the dragon to Sw2 (1 Faun token collected, 1 returned), and 2 tokens to Fa2, with a reinforecement die of 0, conquest fails.  Gains 9VP and redeploys until there are 3 tokens in Fa5, 2 tokens each in Sw2 and M2, and 1 token elsewhere.

Round 5

Kevin recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens to Fo3 (the Igors collect 1 Igor token) and 3 tokens to H3 (the Igors collect 1 Igor token).  Gains 11VP and 2 tokens and redeploys until there are 2 tokens each in H5, Fo3, Fa4, Fa2, Fo1, and Fo4, and 1 token each in each other region.  The Igors gain 2 tokens.

Christopher sets the Humans into decline, gaining 7VP.

Bill sets the Igors into decline, gaining 7VP.

Round 6

Kevin recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens to Fa3 and 3 tokens to H2.  Gains 13VP and 1 token and redeploys until there are 2 tokens each in H5, Fo3, H3, Fa2, and Fo4, and 1 token each in each other region.

Christopher selects the Fireball Tritons, gaining 3VP, and places 2 tokens in Fa2, 3 in Sw2, 2 in Sw3, 2 in H1, and 2 in Fo1, gaining 9VP and 2 fireballs.

Bill spends 2VP to take the Corrupt Skeletons, places 3 tokens in Fo2, 3 in Fa3, and 4 in H2, gaining 8VP and 1 token, placing it in Fa3.

Round 7

Kevin sends the Fauns into decline, gaining 8VP.
Christopher recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 1 token and a fireball into Fa4, 1 token and a fireball into Fo3, 2 tokens into H3, and 2 tokens into Sw4.  Gains 13VP and 4 fireballs.  Redeploys so that 2 tokens are each in Fa2 and Sw4 and 1 in each other region.
Bill recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 3 tokens into Sw2 and 5 tokens into M5, gaining 9VP and 1 token.  Redistributes so that there are 3 tokens each in Fa3 and H2 and 2 tokens in each other region.

Round 8

Kevin spends 2VP to take the Heroic Sorcerers, placing 3 tokens in Fo1, 4 tokens in Fa2, ensorceling the Triton token in Sw2, and placing 3 tokens in Sw3, gaining 9VP.  Places the Hero markers in Sw2 and Sw3, redeploys so that there are 5 tokens in Fa2, 4 tokens in Fo1, and 1 token each in Sw2 and Sw3.
Christopher recalls all but 1 token from each area, moves 1 token and 2 fireballs into M3, and 1 token and 2 fireballs into M6, gaining 10VP and 3 fireballs.
Bill recalls all but 1 token from each area except for Fa3, which retains 2 tokens, moves 4 tokens into M2, gaining 8VP, and redeploying 1 addtional token each to Fo2 and M5.

Round 9

Kevin recalls all but 1 token in each region, uses the Sorcerer power to replace the Triton token in M3, places 3 tokens in H1, 3 tokens in Fa1, 1 token in Fa4 with a reinforcement roll of 0, gaining 9VP.  Redeploys the Hero markers to Fa1 and H1, 4 tokens in Sw3, 3 tokens in M3, and 1 token in each other region.
Christopher sends the Tritons into decline, removing both Human tokens, and gaining 5VP.
Bill recalls all but 1 token in each region, places 3 tokens in M4, and 3 tokens into Sw1, gaining 10VP.  Redeploys 2 tokens from M4 to M2.

Round 10

Kevin recalls all but 1 token in each region, places 3 tokens in Fa4, 2 tokens in Fo3 with a reinforcement die roll of 3, gaining 12VP.  Redeploys 2 tokens from Fa4 to Fo3.
Christopher spends 3VP to take the Berserk Trolls, starts in Fa4, rolling a reinforcement die of 3 and placing 1 token, in Sw3, rolls a reinforcement die of 0 and places 3 tokens, in Sw2, rolls a reinforcement die of 0 and places 3 tokens, in M3, rolls a  reinforcement die of 2 and places 2 tokens.  Gains 7VP, places a Troll's Lair in each region, and redistributes so that there are 4 tokens in Sw3, 3 in Fa4, and 1 each in Sw2 and M3.
Bill recalls all but 1 token in each region, places 3 tokens in Sw4, and 1 in Fo4 with a reinforcement die roll of 0, gains 12VP and redeploys so that there are 2 token each in Sw1, M2, and Sw4, and 1 in each other region.

Christopher Hunt:  Thanks to Chris on running the game the addition of area numbers greatly helped.  Congratulations to Kevin on his win. Enjoyable game should have declined the Tritons a turn or two earlier.

Kevin Wilson:  I thought about taking my Sorcerer’s into decline the penultimate turn but those Heroes made all the difference. I’ve not played enough games to know if the tightness here is normal or maybe because 3-player will stay tight but it certainly looked like it might come down to a point or 2 and those Heroes seemed to keep others at bay.

Fun for a first time in SOB. Thanks to the others for playing and to Chris for running the game and correcting the more than occasional error along the way.

Bill Scharf:  Fun game, quick too. The top three sets I identified among the starters were the first three chosen, good to know I still have an eye for these things. Thanks for running it and congratulations to Kevin on his win.
