End of Game Statements
Dave Hooton: Congratulations to Chris on his win. It looks like we all tried different strategies. I went for the end-round goals and eggs.
Kevin Croskery: Well done Chris G! My focus on big birds didn't pay off and I couldn't get anything to match my single bonus card. THanks to Chris H for running the game.
Christopher Hunt:
Well done Chris G. Thanks to Chris H for running the game spy
well. Went for my bonus conditions but lack of brown cards meant
little engine.
Chris Geggus:
Thanks all, enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting to win by that margin as I
was really relying solely on my birds to see me home and fortunately I
picked up some bigger ones late on. I lacked most else in the scoring.
And Chris H. will confirm I made a blunder on the penultimate turn
which cost me 4 VPs. Thanks to Chris for his GM'ing once again.
I see the BPA (Boardgame Players Association - guys that run WBC) are
going to do an online tournament for Wingspan shortly. I'm already
doing their Twilight Struggle tourney which is excellent value for
money. You pay $10 which covers you for all pbm games during the year
and the TS tourney is triple-elim, so you are guaranteed at least 3
games (for those interested I am 1 - 1 at the moment). If anyone wants
details drop me a line.
Until the next one.
Kevin Wilson:
I had a couple of birds I liked that helped make some interesting
plays, just not enough scoring plays! Still, it seemed like no one was
running away with it until the end. Congrats to Chris on a nice,
impressive win. Thanks to the rest for playing and to Chris, as
always, for his excellent GMing.
