Congratulations to Christopher on his win!

End of Game Statements

Chris Geggus (Genoa):  Very good play by the 2 leaders all the way through. I think the rest of us were playing for third from a long way out.  Never got going and my lucky dice were on vacation, so little I could do to change the status quo.Congrats to Christopher and thanks to Chris.

Christopher Hunt (Paris):  Thanks to Chris for his game mastering.  My initial leaders drove me to sea and luckily got a good holding in the Black Sea and in the colonies.  I thought I was going to be second due to my high misery until the penultimate turn when I got excellent trade. Never have worked out how to reduce misery.

Dave Hooton (Venice):  Congratulations to both Christopher Hunt and Bill Scharf on games well played.

However, after getting together a coalition to stop Bill from running the table with the Wool market, it was disheartening to see one of the coalition members turn around and hand Christopher $225 in return for chump change. (I changed my planned purchases so I could get Master of Arts so I could dump my own Spice card.)

Even though I was out of the game with the first card play (but almost rising to third), it was still an enjoyable game. Thanks, Chris, for running it.

Bill Scharf (London):  Thanks for running the game, and congratulations to Christopher on his win. As far as my game went, I did a lot better than I expected. An early war play left me a location on the Mediterranean. Since both Genoa and Barcelona played before me, I was sure they’d remove my toehold there before I could spread throughout the area, but no, they both left it alone. I was scratching my head at that, because if I were them I wouldn’t want someone like me anywhere near the area. But they left me alone so I was free to use my standard mad dog approach to spread all through the area. In fact, I was able to spread so much that when I drew Black Death it was somewhat challenging to find an area I wasn’t in. (See, you can complain about being too sucessful!).

I was also very lucky in final card play. Out of all the goods cards played, I was the majority stockholder in all of them, yes, good old luck, we be mates!
