Congratulations
to Martin Burgdorf on his victory!
Andy York:
I actually came in 3rd, one of my best efforts. But, hats off to the
two who outscored me and, especially, to Martin for his top honors.
Appreciation to Chris for running the game.
Kevin Wilson:
Ugh, an awful performance. Just when playing about 100 games
against the AI on my iPad got me to thinking I was seeing some ideas
boom, all comes crashing down. I seemed to always be just a doubloon
short or with the roles coming just out of the order that would have
helped. There were so many times I didn’t get to choose I just
reacted. Not a good way to win! ;-)
Thanks to Chris, as always, for running the game and to the rest for playing and teaching (pounding) yet again.
Chris Geggus:
I hate 5 player games of PR which I think should be banned. Please
Chris, never include me in another one. I was losing it from the first
turn and never had a sniff. Well done to Martin and Christopher who
played it extremely competently and congrats to Martin for just shaving
it with his shipping strategy. Thank you to Chris as well of course.
I will say in the WBC in July in the States I got to the semis of this
(had to forfeit as another final overran) and they emphasise that there
will never be any 5 player games. They will do more 3s if necessary for
qualification, but there is a general hatred of the 5 player version by
all players. However, it is listed as a possible 5 player game, so if
happy to play it like that please don't let me be an old curmugeon and
spoil it for everyone else.
Christopher Hunt: Thanks
to Chris for running the game so well. Congratulations to Martin
on his win. [Reminder to self take Custom House not for oneself but so
no one else can have it]. Prefer a five player game. Thanks
to Chris G for the information on the utility of the Black
Market. If I had got Guest House earlier it would have been
better could have manned the last plantation. But if your
foresight was as good as your hindsight, we would be better by a far
sight.
