that set, the Tactician, was strategically removed. Half of the

End of Game Statements
Dave Hooton: Thanks for running this, Chris.
I think I'm beginning to get the hang of the game. It's all about
balance - one Squire to get extra Silver, one Highwayman to depress
buying power and get additional cards, one Haggler to gain a Gold when
I get a Province, etc.
There was much tension during the last two rounds as Chris Hibbert kept
up the pace. I faltered a bit and he faltered a bit more, allowing
Christopher Hunt to catch up to him.
Bill Scharf: Congrats to David on his win. Couldn’t buy a card that cost more than five until turn twelve, not good. Thanks Chris, for running it.
Christopher Hunt:
As always a great game. As always shorter than one thinks.
Thanks to Chris for his running and congratulations to David on his
win. Highway man caused more trouble than I thought. Initially too many 4's and no 5' income.
Chris Hibbert: I enjoyed that, as always. Thanks to Chris H. for running the game.
I thought things were going pretty well for me, but I shouldn't have
been surprised that as I bought more Provinces, my hands got worse.
This was a particularly hard card combo for getting to 8. The only card
that actually increased hand size was Highwayman, but I didn't buy any
because it was only helpful for, at best, alternating hands.
I thus also neglected one of my rules of thumb, which is that attacks
are worth more, the more players there are. It seemed like a pretty
weak attack, but it was strong enough to make the difference.
Congratulations to Dave for a well-played game.
Chris Geggus: Congrats to Dave. Another exemplary game. I still can’t get to grips with this game, but always fun. Thanks to Chris of course.
Kevin Wilson:
Once or twice I came up 1 copper short of a buying a province. It was
just tough to get the coin needed. Might have used another Bandit Camp
as often, when I had coin, a Spoils was a big help. I never took
the chance to unload some worthless to cycle a bit quicker and that may
have slowed things a bit too.
I’m still learning the game, trying to see those chains and connections
but not always successfully. Still, the variety a single box allows let
alone an expansion or two shows why this game is so popular. Glad
I finally made the dive in.
Congrats to Dave on a nice win and thanks to Chris, and the others, for
running and playing the game. Next round, feel free to toss in some
thoughts on card combos to help us Dominion-rookies along.
