Governor Christopher selects the Builder and builds a Hospice (1 doubloon discount from Builder, 3 doubloons spent).  Dave builds a Small Market (1 doubloon spent).  Kevin builds a Construction Hut (2 doubloons spent).  Chris builds a Black Market (2 doubloons spent).

Dave selects the Settler and takes a corn plantation.  Kevin takes an indigo plantation.  Chris takes a tobacco plantation.  Christopher takes an indigo plantation.  New plantations:  indigo, sugar, sugar, sugar, coffee.

Kevin selects the Mayor and places colonists on the Construction Hut and corn plantation.  Chris places a colonist on the corn plantation.  Christopher places a colonist on the Hospice.  Dave places a colonist on the corn plantation.  Four colonists are placed on the colonist ship.

End of Game Statements

Chris Geggus:  I always start these games with an open mind to see which strategy looks most profitable and likely to give me the best chance. I guess going last in the first turn rather puts you on the back foot and your choice is a little more limited. I did realise pretty quickly that I was not going to out-ship the other couple of corn hogs, so Black Market and building had to be my best chance. Strangely enough I only used Black Market twice I think, which rather negated it's purchase. I got some help from other choices which fitted in nicely with my plans and the plantations seemed to fall my way as well. End result the engine ran smoothly and got me over the line. Thanks to all and to Chris for usual great GM'ing.

Dave Hooton:  Congratulations to Chris G. on his win. Having both tobacco and coffee production was good for him while I never had anything better than sugar.

Kevin Wilson:  Just one more turn and I would have had you. Well, most likely not but one more turn and I may have been able to load up on a few shipping VP to close the gap.  But, we’ll never know.  It’s taken a few plays but the paths are clearer now so pasting together benefits makes (a little) more sense.
