Kevin selects the Mayor, and places colonists on the corn and indigo plantations.  Chris places a colonist on the corn plantation.  Dave places a colonist on the corn plantation.  Andy places a colonist on an indigo plantation.  Four colonists are placed on the colonist ship.

Dave Hooton:  Congratulations to Chris G. on his decisive victory. That's what happens when someone gets three big buildings. Thanks again to Chris H. for running this game.

Chris Geggus: The 4 player game is so much easier. Knowing that if you have a different resource you will always be able to trade it makes a big change in dynamics to the game. Grab coffee or tobacco before anyone else and you can almost print your own money. Then you can decide which way to proceed. I went big on buildings this time as I was awash with cash. Three 10 buildings is a must win, so I just needed to finish it quickly.

Thanks all and thanks to Chris again. The run continues. I'm putting myself up there as a target, but I seem to do better in this game than certain others here where I get my arse handed to me every time. As they say over here " Horses for Courses ".

Kevin Wilson:  I really had to think a bit more on this one.  While the mechanics of the game are straightforward and the strategy somewhat clear, execution continues to be a weak point for me.  Unlike in some games where I can play out the scenarios and be reasonably confident what I think the others are likely to do and thus how I can try to maximize my benefit I consistently misread things with Puerto Rico vs. other games and, as a result, I continue to trail the pack, usually due to missing the endgame sprint for VP, starting a bit late.  This time, missing out completely on the big buildings!

But, the only way to improve is to play and work at it so I shall.
