Governor Wilson selects the Builder and builds a Small Market (1 doubloon discount from Builder, 0 doubloons spent).  Geggus builds a Small Indigo Plant (1 doubloon spent).  Hibbert builds a Small Market (1 doubloon spent).

Geggus selects the Mayor and places colonists on the indigo plantation and Small Indigo Plant.  Hibbert places a colonist on the corn plantation.  Wilson places a colonist on the indigo platnation.  Three colonists are placed on the colonist ship.

Hibbert selects the Settler, taking a quarry.  Wilson takes a sugar plantation.  Geggus takes a tobacco plantation.  New plantations:  indigo, sugar, sugar, tobacco.

Round 2

Governor Geggus selects the Settler and takes a quarry.  Hibbert takes a sugar plantation.  Wilson takes a sugar plantation.  New plantations:  corn, indigo, sugar, sugar.

Wilson selects the Captain, gaining 1 doubloon.

Round 3

Governor Hibbert selects the Mayor, gains 1 doubloon, places colonists on the Small Sugar Mill and sugar plantation, and moves a colonist from the corn plantation to the Small Market.  Wilson places a colonist on the Small Market and moves a colonist from the indigo plantation to a sugar planation.  Geggus places a colonist on the quarry.  Three colonists are placed on the colonist ship.

Hibbert selects the Builder and builds a Hospice (1 doubloon discount for Builder, 1 doubloon discount for a quarry, 2 doubloons spent).  Wilson passes.  Geggus builds a Tobacco Storage (1 doubloon discount for a quarry, 4 doubloons spent).

Round 5

Governor Geggus selects the Captain, gains 2 doubloons, and ships 1 indigo on Ship 3 for 2VP.

Geggus selects the Builder, gains 2 doubloons, and builds a Wharf (1 doubloon discount for Builder, 2 doubloon discount for quarries, 6 doubloons spent).  Hibbert builds a Fortress (1 doubloon discount for a quarry, 9 doubloons spent).  Wilson passes.

Hibbert selects the Settler and takes a quarry with a colonist from the Hospice.  Wilson takes a corn plantation.  Geggus takes a coffee plantation with a colonist from the Hospice.  New plantations:  indigo, indigo, coffee, coffee.

Round 14

End of Game Statements

Chris Geggus:  Got to be quick on your toes with only 3 players and I was lucky to escape an error on the last turn. I should have shipped my coffee and blocked one of the ships before I shipped my corn as that could always go on my wharf. Good game all round and as fun as ever. Thanks to Chris H. for controlling all of us so carefully.

Kevin Wilson:  While I’ve still not been in the hunt in one of these I do agree the 3-player games seem to flip from mid-game to end-game fast and once flipped go very fast to an end. Once again I missed out on gaining any real building benefits despite having some income now and then and the shipping didn’t provide a lot either. Once it took off to the end, too late to catch up. Congrats to Gegs on a nice win and thanks to the other Chris for the play and to the first Chris for running the game.

Chris Hibbert:  This was a fun game. I thought I did fairly well on earning money so I could buy the buildings I wanted. I must have mis-read the VP count near the end, as I thought I was close enough on VPs that the Fortress was going to possibly put me ahead, but I wasn't as close as I thought. If I had counted better, I might have waited for another turn or two to buy more bonus buildings. Thanks for the game everyone and to Chris for running things.
