Congratulations to Christopher Hunt on his win!

End of Game Statements

Dave Hooton (Paris):  Thanks, Chris, for running the game. Also congratulations to Christopher for the win. For a while, it looked like Bill would win.

As for me, bad mistakes and bad dice.

Chris Geggus (Barcelona):  Well played Christopher. 4 Players makes for very different mechanics. I assumed 2 distinct fights for the duration, but Christopher seemed to be able to go his own way with little interference. I was blocked by Genoa early on and took the fight to him. However my die rolling was awful throughout (even drawing and losing my war with a military bonus), so I was behind in the race from the beginning. And it didn't get any better. Surprised at the quiet game from Dave - not your usual punchy self in this one Dave! It looks to me that Barcelona is not a good choice in a four-hander. I had to go east, but everyone could see me coming and react accordingly. Not enough distraction from other directions. Interesting however. Thanks Chris H. who, as usual, spent a lot of his time correcting my maths.

Bill Scharf (Genoa):  Great game! Barcelona and Genoa were in the lead mid-game, and we basically took each other out of the running. Since turn seven, Barcelona attacks against cities were all against me (except ONE)! Hard to beat that kind of dedication. As a result, I couldn’t put much pressure against Venice at all. Oh well, such is the fate of Genoa, squashed between the two other Mediterranean powers. I got within 5 percent of the leader, that’s not too bad in this game!

Christopher Hunt (Venice):  Thanks to Chris H for running the game so well and worlking out the maths for me.   Was not attacked much. Little expansion after first few moves.  Lucky to win. In second place until the last move when I got so much money.
